I’ve been getting ready to try and start recording the EP earlier than scheduled.

During my music research, I found a singer I used to really like when I was doing DJ mixes.  I thought she had disappeared under a previous name of Nevve.  However it seems that in the dance community the name Nevve referred to several female singers.  I found her real name based on a Monstercat Fandom Wiki post and the years that I mixed songs recognizing her voice.  Turns out she has another alias and band under the name of DresageKeeley Bumford has quite a few albums and does work for many different projects.  Further research revealed that she went to Berklee College of Music and did the major I was considering when I ended up there, however I wouldn’t have finished on time due to all the transfers I went through.  So with the classes and experience I had, decided to stick with my longer-time passion of songwriting as a major.  You can see an inspiring performance of her on YouTube here.

Additionally I have finally gotten around to listening to David Gray’s latest release called Dear Life.  I don’t know why I didn’t listen to it earlier.  For some reason the cover held me back.  He was sending updates to people that were somewhat personal and friendly.  I felt like a distant friend and often it seemed as if he was one of the only friends I had at that time.  I was ok with the first single “Plus & Minus”, however I thought I heard something else that was a complete diversion from his regular style.  So I figured he must be going through some trend phase.  Anyways I think I was mistaken because he has brought us another gem combining intriguing new lyric concepts and variations on the classic style many of us love him about.

The last thing I thought to share is this photo of three metal horses I bought at Hobby Lobby.  I was thinking of practicing engraving for the USB key product in order to further personalize it.  Though the size might be too small of a thing to engrave, this particular horses project turned out better than I expected.  I wrote the names of many of my characters on the horses.  It dawned on me that I could do the same thing with lyrical excerpts from original songs and put those on the shop.  Does that sound interesting?  The trip to Georgia starts in one week.
