A few highlights from my discovery lately.  Alison Wonderland’s Ghost World is out now (Explicit).  It was delayed for over a month and the official webstore couldn’t even deliver a digital copy on time after that despite being ready on every other avenue.  The album is very groovy so to speak, leaning towards drum and bass as well as throwing back to the time when electronic music was starting to heavily go to the main stage around the early 2010’s.  Unfortunately she has bought into the trend of using expensive processing on vocals to basically take away some of her natural talent.  Kelly Zutrau (from the band Wet) allowed the same thing on their latest album Two Lives.  Just because one has a tool available, doesn’t mean one should use it.  Kaskade also has a new album out that I just saw before this post (haven’t listened to it yet).  undux was released the day before Alison’s.  They both basically have their hands on their heads, so you can tell they are in the same scene.  That’s another thing I can’t understand.  Why do artists refuse to learn or use any sort of title case for their songs and albums?!  The expression should be within the songs in my belief, not in the habitual destruction of the human language and it’s general grammatic rules.  As a person with a degree in Songwriting who had to teach ESL abroad for seven years to survive, I take it personally.  Also the reason why I stopped reading tattoo magazines.  Editors with PhDs letting errors go, seemingly on purpose with no comment.
