I spent the other day in Jacksonville. There is a new Lotte Plaza Market next to one of the Guitar Centers which is an explosion of cultures that bring back a confusing mix of my memories on first visit. This was my second visit, so I wasn’t so overwhelmed. They stock Korean, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Mexican and other products from different countries. My goal for the day was to try and see Keanu Reeves’ latest movie entitled Good Fortune before it left theaters. I drove around the areas of Jacksonville I know and did some Christmas shopping as well as looking for things I have on a to-do list. It was a beautiful day and I almost went home, but saw a lot of traffic and decided to escape it by going to Ikea. I found an earlier showing at seven and navigated to the movie. It is rated R, mostly because of swearing. This movie felt really personal to me and probably many people in an inspiring way. Sometimes I thought in vivid present reflections that I would have written something similar if screenwriting was my main thing. Right now I’m listening to Florence + The Machine’s newest release. She looks compressed full of strong emotions, however many videos can be too distracting to input the music’s meaning to myself and concentrate on the musicality. NF also has a new album (EP) out called Fear. On Sunday I have a ticket to see a couple of bands at Hard Love and then it’s to Kansas City on the following weekend. Wish me luck on the flights!
