The cold weather has reached Florida and just before it did, I had some of the most disappointing days during this period of my life. Rejection has been my middle name and the pain reached me in one place I didn’t think it could. The DAW. My recording workstation software with company I’ve followed since 1998 is changing it’s name to a guitar goliath and has even gotten rid of their website and all dashboards to brand it with themselves. Also the reason I avoid many musical brands if possible – leather. It’s on their front pages and unavoidable to even look at if you want to log in to your account! So it looks like all the time I’ve spent learning Presonus’ Studio One Live 7, could be down the tube. I think in June my one-year license expires and it’s impossible to convert it to a perpetual agreement. I’m not sure about that though, because they’ve obliterated everything of the Presonus name it looks like finally since they were bought in 2021. I had no idea. I’m not sure what’s happening with the rest of the equipment, however I’m looking at speakers, a subwoofer and a recording interface all with the name on it like they are the last of a dynasty. So to say the least I was upset. Not only have I been rejected by several jobs that I was extensively experienced for and sort of dissed in the process, the hurt is staring me right in the face. After over ten years away from mixing and rediscovering my love of it.

The good news is that I have mostly finished the EP and unplugged live videos that accompany the album. The store at Ckwal.com is almost ready to publish as well, however it was giving me some troubles the last two nights and I might have to redesign it in WordPress with WooCommerce. I just didn’t go that direction because I wanted to keep the blog and shop stuff with the money separate, still I think I’ve been with WordPress long enough to trust where the issues I have with them are going. The live videos consist of a possible quality of up to 4K if one has the internet and space to download these big of files (over 11 gigabytes). Featured songs from the album including two previous releases are: Different Destinies, Drones, Sara-Anna (Wind & Rain), Salt, DOA and Wish I Could Save That Dream. The USB Keys (limited quantity of ten) have arrived early and will probably have all the unplugged videos and the two new lyric videos at 1080p as well as booklets and five or six albums. I’d like to give everyone the 4K versions, however the file sizes are over 1-2gig each and the USB drives are 8GB. I still have quite a few things to do before all this is released, especially if the store needs a redesign, however it should be completed before the end of the month or mid-February. Afterwards I’m scheculed to visit family and the mountains in Colorado. I’m donating blood with OneBlood next week and staying in Jacksonville at my old favorite Airbnb place, so I’ll get out then. Below is a preview of one of the videos which is a special dedication tribute.
