Duke Ellington School of the Arts is going to rename their theater after comedian Dave Chappelle as the dying wish of Peggy Cooper Cafritz. Dave graduated from the school and recently visited. Some critics said they didn’t want Dave’s name on it and he responded with a challenge to donate to the school and voice your opinion in the comments. At first he turned the controversy into a fun challenge with the outcome possibly booting his title from the future. The school stood up saying they aren’t budging from the decision to rename. Some of us know Dave Chappelle from Chappelle’s Show which took touchy topics and made you laugh out of your ribs about them. Still going down in history next to Duke is no minor accomplishment. This school is walking distance from The White House and his name will even be on the programs of every show put on there. Pretty rad.
